The grey dove mushroom undergoes a fascinating metamorphosis from frosty blue pins to dark grey clusters. It is more solid and flavorful than most pale oyster strains. Generally, they tatse sweetly shrimp-like, shrink little, and hold their shape when briefly cooked. This mushroom tolerates a wide range of temperatures.
This is a fast growing mushroom that fruits on a wide range of ligneous substrates. The mushrooms grow in clusters of small, thin fleshed, funnel-shaped bright yellow caps. The flavor improves dramatically throughout cooking. This mushroom can be grown on straw, hardwood chips, sawdust, and paper, I love them raw in salads. This mushroom has a sweet, nutty, earthy flavor. great tossed raw in salads. The Golden oyster mushroom is native to the sub-tropical forests of China, Japan, and surrounding regions.
A study in bioluminescence Panellus Stipticus is a basidiomycete that grows on wood and produces fruiting bodies similar to oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus spp.) This is one of the brightest glowing fungi that can be seen with the naked eye. it glows best when cultivated on wood substrates as recommended in this kit. Many species are luminescent, but most are only visible under a micoscope or in very low-light conditions. The primordia, pins and mushrooms themselves glow very brightly and can be easily observed in less than complete darkness, however, even with the Panellus Stipticus, you will need to allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness. once they have, you will be amazed by this mushroom.

Shiitake Mushroom Kit

(Lentinula edodes)
The Shiitake Mushroom is the most popular edible mushroom in Japan. The Asians have used it for thousands of years as a tonic and stimulant to increase vitality, prevent cerebral hemorrhage strokes, as well as improve circulation.
Currently, scientists in the west are studying the shiitake mushroom by extracting lentinan a substance found in this type of mushroom. Research by the scientific community is curiouse about the anti-tumor, Cholesterol, and blood pressure lowering properties.
Shiitake mushrooms have been hailed for both their culinary and health benefits in Japan and other parts of Asia for hundreds of years, and their popularity worldwide increses every year. Found primarily on thicker-barked hardwoods like oak, they also do well on "scrub" hardwoods like alder although longevity of the logs will be less than that of other hardwoods. Logs or stumps can be inoculated; after incubating around 6-8 months your logs will produce shiitake for 2-6 years.

Maitake is a mushroom found growing wild in Japan and in forests in the eastern part of North America, where it grows on dying or already dead hardwood trees. The word maitake means “dancing mushroom” in Japanese; the mushroom was given this name because people were supposed to have danced for joy when they found it. It is also called “hen-in-the woods” some can reach the size of beach balls and larger. Because maitake comes from the Polypores group, it produces a bunch of leaf-like clumps that are intertwined. During Japan’s feudal era, maitake was used as currency; the daimyo, or provincial nobles, would exchange maitake for its weight in silver from the shogun, the military ruler of Japan.
Although the Chinese and Japanese have used maitake in cooking and healing for centuries, it is only in the last 20 years that studies have been conducted concerning its functions. Maitake’s main functions are activating the immune system and acting as an antitumor agent. Maitake is known as an adaptogen and tonic, and as such it aids healthy people to keep their levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight normal. The beta glucan in maitake is a cell-surface carbohydrate. This means beta glucan aids cell communication in specific circumstances. As a polysaccharide, this glucan activates the white blood cells, called macrophages, which in turn devour microorganisms that produce disease, as well as tumors.
With this kit we will teach you how to grow maitake on logs

This species has many names including the bearded tooth mushroom and pom pom mushroom.
They’re found in late summer to fall on dead or dying hardwood trees, especially oak and beech. They grow in North America, China, Japan, and Europe.
This doesn’t look like your typical mushroom. It has no real cap and no stem. Instead it sports long spines coming out from a single clump. The purpose of these spines is to manufacture and release spores, the “seeds” of a mushroom that allow the fungal organism to reproduce.
Many different types of mushrooms have spines instead of a cap, but lions mane and other members of the Hericium genus are some of the most recognizable. Their color is mainly white, although they become brown or yellow with age.
This is not a common species of mushroom so finding one in the woods may be a rare treat. They grow higher up on trees rather than the base, which means that they’re also often missed during a mushroom hunt.
This mushroom provides more than just a visual treat. They’re considered by many to be a gourmet edible, with a wonderfully chewy texture and taste slightly reminiscent of seafood.
Lions mane has also been the subject of more and more medical studies in the last decade. They appear to have nerve regenerating properties, stimulating nerve growth and aiding those with cognitive impairments. yesterday’s funny looking mushroom may be part of tomorrows dementia treatment. In this kit we give you all you need to grow your own Lion’s mane Mushroom, you just provide the log, or stump. US Orders

Not surprising, as reishi has been used in china for over 2,000 years! This mushroom has a long history of use as an herbal medicine. Modern research is now confiming its healing power in the body.
There are six different types of Ganoderma lucidium: red, purple, green, white, yellow, and black. The red mushroom is the most well-studied and is said to possess the most healing properties Reishi is known as ling zhi (mushroom of immortality) in China and mannentake (10,000 year mushroom) in Japan. It is sometimes also referred to as the “herb of spiritual potency.”
This kit contains the red mushroom variety and will inoculate a 40” long log. Reishi appear shiney and brilliant when wet and dry to a dull, dusty color. All species of Ganoderma are defined as polypores. This means they have no gills on their undersides and release spores through small pores. If you flip a reishi mushroom over you will see the flat, corky area where spores are released. Younger growth on the mushroom emerges as white ring around the edge.
Originally found in China, Japan, and Korea, reishi now grown on hardwood throughout the world. They are very rare to find in the wild.
Most will have a red or brown cap with a roughly oval or kidney shape. However, if carbon dioxide levels are high enough a cap will not form and the mushrooms will look like long “antlers” or “fingers” instead. US Orders
